The Malachi has received some wonderful news: we have been successful in a NSW Government grant application for funding to fit-out the Hall with production equipment.
The Malachi is set to receive $173,000 from the NSW Government Office of Responsible Gambling, as part of their Arts and Culture Infrastructure Grant scheme.
The announcement was made at the Hall by State member for Bathurst, Hon. Paul Toole, and Minister for Customer Service Hon. Victor Dominello, with Mayor Kathy Sajowitz in attendance.
As reported in the Oberon Review, the funding will be used to install grids and trusses for theatre lighting and exhibition hanging systems; a cinema projector and screen; auditorium lighting; a sound system; a hearing aid loop and stage curtains.
This is a huge boost to our project, and we are thrilled to see the Malachi surge forward with this support from the NSW Government, and we thank the Oberon community groups for getting behind our application.
