Oberon Overture – Chamber Music Festival Gala

Oberon’s third Chamber Music Festival kicks off a fabulous weekend with three chamber works for piano and strings.
Thanks to the support of Oberon Council, this concert is offering half-price tickets to Oberon 2787 residents.
The Festival Gala brings together leading chamber musicians for an evening of chamber masterworks. The program features Rossini’s youthful Sonata No. 1 in G major , Hummel’s lively Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 87, and Mendelssohn’s rarely heard Piano Sextet in D major, Op. 110.
The concert features artists: Emma Jardine (violin), Brigid Coleridge (violin), Tobias Breider (viola), Rachel Siu (cello), Kees Boersma (double bass), and Bernadette Harvey (piano).
After the performance, stay for an onstage conversation with the musicians, hosted by our much-loved festival guide, Andy Bromberger. Join the musicians for drinks and a slice of pizza bianca in the Malachi foyer and enjoy a fitting start to the festival weekend.
Program:
Hummel – Piano Quintet Op.87
Rossini – Sonata No. 1 in G major for 2 violins, cello and bass
Mendelssohn – Piano Sextet in D major Op.110
