Ashlyn Tymms is recognised for her powerful and emotive performances in both operatic and concert settings. Supported by the lush textures of the viola, string quartet and piano, this concert offers a diverse exploration of emotions and landscapes.
Ashlyn will be joined by Tobias Breider, viola; Paul Ghica, cello; Katherine Lukey, violin; Emma Jardine, violin, and Bernadette Harvey, piano.

Perth-born Ashlyn Tymms is building an impressive career in Australia and overseas. She studied in Melbourne and then at the Royal College of Music in London and has appeared in the London Handel Festival. She sang the beautiful Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music at Buckingham Palace in a performance hosted by the Prince of Wales and she toured to South Korea with the London Cello Orchestra. Ashlyn sings regularly with West Australian Opera and recently performed with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.

With such positive feedback from last year’s festival, Andy’s delightful and personable manner adds much joy to the concert-going experience. Her 30-minute pre-concert MG&E talk will give you a deeper understanding of the music you are about to hear. Don’t miss it!
As ticket holders, the MG&E talk is included in the ticket price. There is a delicious Morning Tea Box available for pre-purchase and will be ready for you to enjoy as you listen to Andy’s presentation. Not only do you get to meet the music and greet each other, but you also get to treat your taste buds too. The Foyer Bar will be open for drinks purchases.
