Enjoy a banquet inspired by the food of Elizabethan England: hearty spit roasts\, loads of potatoes\, an array of salads and desserts. \nThe night features performances by acclaimed Shakespearean troupe ‘Come You Spirits’ who bring their unique perspective to a selection of pieces from Shakespeare’s classic plays. This time we’re focusing on love and romance – the good\, the bad and the tragic. \nWe hope you’ll come and bring a hint of Shakespeare with you (a hat\, a feather\, a brooch\, a quote …) \nThere’ll be some prizes\, good food and heaps of fun. \nThis event is part of the Oberon Shakespeare Festival. \nDoors open at 5:30pm. Food service at 6:15pm.

DESCRIPTION:A new cinema event is planned for this year’s Oberon Field to Forest Festival – two very special screenings of THE GIANTS held at the iconic Malachi Gilmore Hall over the last weekend of March. \nFrom the makers of FREEMAN (ABC\, 2020)\, THE GIANTS explores the intertwined fates of trees and humans in this cinematic portrait of environmental folk hero and gay icon Bob Brown who took green politics to the centre of power. From a seedling to forest elder: the film is a masterclass that draws on Bob’s 50 years of inspiring activism\, from the Franklin campaign for Tasmania’s last wild river\, to today’s battle for the Tarkine rainforest. \nThe extraordinary life of Bob Brown began in Oberon. His father was an Oberon policeman and Bob cherishes the his roots in Central West NSW. Told in Bob’s own words\, his story is interwoven with the extraordinary life cycle of Australia’s giant trees\, brought to the screen with stunning cinematography and breathtaking forest animations. \nThere will be two screenings of the film – Saturday 28 March\, 7PM and Sunday 29 March\, 2PM. \nGet Tickets
