SUMMARY:Omega Ensemble - Howl
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\nRiot\, rapture and release \nUniting five leading contemporary classical voices Howl presents a performance of musical defiance and untamed brilliance. \nBest known as the musical mind behind Tim Burton’s dark cinematic worlds\, Danny Elfman’s mischievous Piano Quartet is a rare and revealing gem\, written with the same sardonic humour and manic intensity that define his film scores. \nCelebrating the strange and the sinister\, this performance also features Pierre Jalbert’s Howl\, a clarinet-led incantation of ritual and outburst\, alongside Missy Mazzoli’s folk-infused Tooth and Nail\, a wild work for solo violin and live electronics mimicking the overtones of a jaw harp. \nDescribed as “part-string-quartet-part-rave” Anna Meredith’s Tuggemo expands the ensemble into new sonic territories before an Australian premiere by Paris-born\, LA-based composer Daniel Wohl fuses electronic and acoustic forces into a three-dimensional sound world. \nProgramme: \nMissy Mazzoli\nTooth and Nail \nAnna Meredith\nTuggemo\nAustralian Premiere \nDaniel Wohl\nNew work for string quartet and electronics\nAustralian Premiere \nPierre Jalbert\nHowl\nAustralian Premiere \nDanny Elfman\nPiano Quartet \nDaniel Wohl commissioned by The Royal Concertgebouw and Omega Ensemble. Netherlands performances made possible by NTR ZaterdagMatinee\, the Composition Commission Fund of The Royal Concertgebouw managed by Het Concertgebouw Fonds \nTickets on sale soon!

SUMMARY:Country Dancehall Project
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\nThere’s nothing quite like a night in a country hall\, full of live country music\, laughter and a floor full of dancers. The Country Dancehall Project rolls into Malachi Gilmore Hall for a night that takes everything great about a classic Aussie bush dance and gives it a modern country kick. \nCalling the dances is “Padre” John Healey\, who’s been at it for 40 years. He’ll walk everyone through the classics\, the Heel n Toe Polka\, the Gallopede\, the Hokey Pokey and a Virginia Reel with Strip the Willow\, so grandparents\, grandkids and everyone in between can take a turn on the floor together. \nBut instead of Waltzing Matilda between dance sets\, you’ll get live music from the next wave of Aussie country talent. \nCome see how the Country Dancehall Project is keeping the bushdance culture alive and kicking.

We also welcome back cellist Paul Ghica\, and are thrilled to introduce leading pianist Ying Ho to the festival. \nChamber music is about listening… to the musicians around you\, to the space you’re in\, and to what is happening in the moment. That close connection between performers and audience is what makes chamber music so special\, and it’s at the heart of this festival. The concerts take place across three gorgeous Oberon venues: Malachi Gilmore Hall\, St Barnabas church\, and the stone chapel of Mayfield Garden. Each space brings something different to the music\, and together they make for a very special weekend. I hope you’ll join us\, take your time\, and enjoy some great music in a beautiful part of the world. \nThe 2026 Festival Pass will give you access to all six ticketed concerts at a discount of 5%. You have a choice of great seats for the four Malachi concerts\, get access to the concerts at Mayfield Garden chapel and St Barnabas church\, and join the Festival Saturday Lunch gathering at the old Bank garden.
